This billboard prototype could be used to promote the musical of Chicago.
Cell Block Tango
MURAL DESIGN, TYPOGRAPHY This mural was designed for a course in the Integrated Design master’s program at The University of Baltimore. This project creates a new edgy look for the song Cell Block Tango from the 1975 musical “Chicago,” lyrics written by Fred Ebb. The design uses very minimal color, shapes, and typography. It features female criminals singing about how they ended up in prison. The chorus contains a single word (pop, six, squish, uh-uh, Cicero, and Lipschitz) from each female prisoner. The word uh-uh stands out because this is the only female who was incarcerated and did not commit a crime.
